Hi Everyone
We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.
A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.
(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

Our friend Bob told us about this, although he described it as sitting on a tray on a track that was right at the edge of the mountain. That's not for us we thought until we saw that it wasn't quite as dangerous as he made out. So we has a go and this and the following images show some of our fellow riders having fun (some more than others).

The bride and her bridesmaids arrived at the top the gondola station by helicopter followed by the groom in a 2nd helicopter. Fiona snuck between the onlookers to snap this candid shot but she reckons that the paparazzi lifestyle is not for her although we quite fancied being the wedding photographers.

Roads cutting through the mountains, Queenstown

Practically all the roads in the South Island are single carriageways with passing lanes every so often. It has been some feat of engineering to construct these roads which dissect or skirt round the mountains. They are in excellent condition, well signposted with a top speed of 100 kmph.

This is the pier in Queenstown, which sits on Lake Wakatipu. It is like a large alpine village with the town centre at the bottom on the flat and the houses and motels rising up the hillside. It reminded us of Lake Garda and parts of Austria we have visited. Very busy with adrenaline junkies from all over the world who have a choice of about a doze...

Still driving back from Milford Sound and stopped at the traffic lights before the Hummel Tunnel. There's another one of those parakeets Alan......oh no not again!
