Hi Everyone

We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.

A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.

(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

Cheung Sha Beach, Lantau Island

This was the first stop. The sun was out and it was very warm - that didn't last! It was a beautiful clean beach and the South China Sea was very inviting. Alas it was only a brief stop so we reluctantly got back on the bus.

Lantau Island Ferry Port - Have you seen my bike ?

We went on an organised trip to Lantau Island. A 30 minute ferry ride from Central Pier on Hong Kong Island took us to a different world. Lantau is a much larger land mass than Hong Kong Island but has only 120,000 residents in comparison to the 6 million on the Island. This is the bike park for daily commuters to Hong Kong Island. Yes, the low cloud and mist did not lift so the symphony of sound and laser slight that takes place every night at 8 pm had to compete with this. Nonetheless it was still an impressive site and the mist swirls and lifts so one minute you can't see the top of the tallest skyscrapers and the next you can.

This is a very upmarket shopping centre with the top designer shops including Tiffany's which has a permanent queue outside. The building used to be the Hong Kong Marine Police headquarters.

Shopping District, Nathan Road, Kowloon

Nathan Road is the famous shopping precinct in Kowloon. It is a mile long and there is one shopping mall after another and we've never seen so many jewellery and watch shops. Every five paces you are either stopped and offered fake designer watches or to be fitted for a suit. It is absolutely jumping and we defy anyone to be able to walk in a strai...
