Hi Everyone

We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.

A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.

(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

Hooker Valley, Mount Cook National Park

The weather at the Mount Cook village was bright and sunny. Not that much further down on the Hooker Valley trail the weather was not so good - in fact it was dreech (? re spelling but you know what we mean). An Alan 'special' photograph. We stopped here on the way to our accommodation in Twizel (yes it was called Twizel) because unfortunately Lake Tekapo was full with it being Easter Weekend. Mount Cook is the highest mountain in Australasia at over 3000 metres (don't ask me what that is in ft).

Low lying cloud is typical across the mountain ranges - it almost looks like white candy floss and is very slow moving (the cloud not the candy floss).

Arrived in New Zealand

Arrived in Christchurch at 5 am on Easter Monday and that was after adding 2 hours on so we were wabbit! We just passed through Christchurch, which is still being rebuilt after the earthquake. This was taken in car park of a nice farm shop cafe in Geraldine. This is as vintage as Alan!

The whole docklands area in Melbourne is being transformed into a restaurant and shopping haven and as is typical with Melbourne there are a few street sculptures.
