Hi Everyone

We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.

A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.

(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

We wondered what Kevin MacLeod would make of this property - it was like something out of Grand Designs. The inshot at the front was to park their boat. It's outlook was the cove in the previous image.

There was a footpath from our hotel along to a place called Kelvin Heights. Judging by the houses this appeared to be a very upmarket part of Queenstown as the following image will show.

Kawarau Hotel Managed by Hilton

This has been our best accommodation to date. 9km outside of Queenstown in a place called Kawarau Village, which is the location of the Hilton and adjacent 'down market' Kawarau Hotels. One more photo to follow of our boutique room.

Chinese Settlement, Arrowtown

Small numbers of Chinese miners came over to work in the gold mines at the end of the 19th century. Not initially welcomed they settled in this primitive style of accommodation on the edge of town.

It probably happens in Britain but we haven't noticed it as much as in NZ where patches of a tree change to autumn colours while the adjacent tree remains unchanged.
