Hi Everyone

We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.

A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.

(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

As you will see there are different colours of pools and this is down to the different minerals in that particular location. No prizes for recognising predominently iron in this pool. Depending on how the wind is blowing you get engulfed in the sulphur steam......good for the skin? Time will tell!

We wish you could do scratch and sniff on the blog and you would be able to strong smell of sulphur. A wide angled lens was used for quite a few of the following images which brings a different perspective and adds definition to the clouds.

Boardwalks take you across some of the features with bubbling water at either side. Warning signs all over as you can imagine stating keep to the path, don't touch the water as inexcess of 100 degrees.

One of several thermal parks just outside Rotorua. This geyser errupts at 1015 am every day. But how can the exact timing be assured? The Aratiatia Dam opens up at 1000, 1200, 1400 and 1600 (in summer only) and contributes to NZ hydropower energy source. It is off Highway 5 between Taupo and Rotorua.
