Aberdeen Harbour, Hong Kong

Well we've now arrived in Hong Kong for the last part of our trip.  From quiet tranquil New Zealand we've come to a mad mental place with so many people; 400,000 visitors a day, 6 million population on Hong Kong Island alone, wall to wall traffic and designer shops every two paces.  This is the very fabric of Hong Kong and what makes it tick. It makes it a fascinating place to visit but not to stay  - that would do our heads in ! It is a country of contrasts, however, as the images we will post will show.

Aberdeen Harbour is well known for its floating restaurants that you are transferred to by boat. We were taken out on a tour of the harbour in a traditional Chinese sampan boat that holds about 12 people. The biggest floating restaurant is quite aptly named 'Jumbo' but it was away for renovation so this is Tai Pak, its wee sister.
