Cottesloe Beach, Perth - Sculpture Exhibition

We saw this advertised in the magazine on the plane and thought it looked interesting.  However, it was not as we expected.......we thought sculptures on the beach were super dooper sand castles and other exhibits constructed from sand, whilst in reality it was 70 unique sculptures made from a variety of materials and some were very quirky.  It was a well supported event and it turned out a really good afternoon.

This is one of the sculptures which was made from tall bamboo canes stuck in a symetrical pattern in the sand. Each cane was topped with a feather and a wooden mechanism which turned in the wind making a tapping noise.  I'm sure the artist would describe it much better than this and what it symbolised but it was really unusual and drew a crowd.
