Hi Everyone

We are on a 6 week trip of a lifetime visiting Singapore (2 nights), Perth (5 nights), Melbourne (4 nights), touring the South and then the North Islands of New Zealand for nearly a month, finishing with 3 nights in Hong Kong.

A wonderful opportunity to take photographs of so many contrasting cultures and landscapes. We would like to share a selection of images we have taken along the way on our Nikon D7000 and D800 cameras. We hope you enjoy them and continue to follow us on our adventures.

(The most recent post will be the first you will see so by working backwards and through the 'older posts' you will get to the beginning of the trip. Posts will be added when we get the selected images processed and internet access).

Toilet Humour, Paihai

Literally.... these public toilets were entitled 'Paihai's Wee Toilet'. Do you see the steel toilet bowl planters on the roof? That's another thing we noticed they use the word 'wee' in NZ so it must be another Scottish import.

Historical ?....maybe not (Russell)

Just about every building in Russell had a plaque on it commemorating its history. This notice was on the wall of a rather new looking clapperboard art gallery - there's something very Scottish about the NZ sense of humour.

The boat dropped us off at Russell which is just a 15 minute boat ride across the bay from Paihai. Russell is a small and quite historical resort.

Typical Scenery, Bay of Islands

Rocky out crops, small islands and aquamarine water.....just wonderful. This was just at the entry to Otehei Bay on Urnpukapuka (yep that one) where we were got off the boat for an hour and had a stroll along the beach after a coffee at the bays only restaurant.

Playing in the wake, Dolphin Cruise

The dolphins are in the habit of following the boats wake when it sets off. It just had to be seen all these dolphins swimming and jumping really closely behind the boat. It is something that will remain in our memories forever.
